{"id":748,"date":"2017-11-16T16:16:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T16:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bcwoodproperties.com\/?p=748"},"modified":"2017-11-16T16:16:00","modified_gmt":"2017-11-16T16:16:00","slug":"bc-wood-properties-and-united-way-sharing-sweet-dreams-with-local-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bcwoodproperties.com\/es\/bc-wood-properties-and-united-way-sharing-sweet-dreams-with-local-children\/","title":{"rendered":"BC Wood Properties and United Way Sharing Sweet Dreams with Local Children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>Lexington, KY \u2013 November 16,2017<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This holiday season, United Way of the Bluegrass is leading a pajama and book drive \u2013 the <b>Sweet Dreams Project<\/b><i>,<\/i> to support elementary students across the Central Kentucky region.\u00a0This is the second year for the project which was established through United Way\u2019s work with local schools and Family Resource Centers which revealed that many children do not have any pajamas or books at home, and may head into the holiday break worrying about food insecurity and other things that a child should never have to worry about. Sweet Dreams is a project meant to fill the needs of students that are not already met through other services during the season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">United Way is asking for support from the public as they aim to bring <i>Sweet Dreams<\/i> to over 1,000 local children.\u00a0 Students from 22 elementary schools located in Lexington and across the Bluegrass region will benefit from the project.\u00a0 The program was expanded this year thanks to a special sponsorship from BC Wood Properties. This year, an additional 7 schools and 300 students will be served through the project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Students will head home for the holiday break with a Sweet Dreams package including: a new pair of pajamas, a new book to read and other items to enjoy during the break such as snacks, a toothbrush and other hygiene products. Students from Anderson, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Jessamine, Madison, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties will receive packages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>How Can You Help?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>Make a Gift to Support Sweet Dreams<\/b>:\u00a0 Every $15 raised will sponsor one child. Financial contributions to United Way in support of the Sweet Dreams Project are tax-deductible and are requested by December 5.
